On the occasion of its 20th anniversary, Williams Jet Tenders has launched a revamped and commemorative version of its SportJet 520, which premiered in the US during the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, scheduled to run from 30 October to 3 November 2024. The model on display is a celebration of the company’s two decades of innovation and craftsmanship.
The new SportJet 520 is designed for yachts over 30 metres and is distinguished by its high level of performance and sophisticated design. Equipped with a powerful 230 hp Rotax engine, it reaches a top speed of 90 km/h, making it the fastest tender in its class. This combination of power and speed is designed to offer an unrivalled experience for both water sports enthusiasts and yacht owners in need of a performance tender.
Optimised comfort and design
In addition to performance, the SportJet 520 stands out for its design innovations and focus on comfort. Among the new features are improved ergonomics and redesigned front seats for greater comfort while cruising. The integration of a 1.2 metre boarding pole and a reinforced step makes it easier to get on board, while the large sunbathing area and storage space make this tender extremely functional. With its capacity to accommodate seven people, it is the largest model in the SportJet range.
A limited edition to celebrate excellence
The model on display at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show is a limited edition made to commemorate the 20th anniversary of Williams Jet Tenders. This version features a custom colour scheme and carefully crafted details, making it a unique collector’s item. Mathew Hornsby, Commercial Director of Williams Jet Tenders, said: ‘We are thrilled to present this special edition of the SportJet 520. The revamped model represents the pinnacle of our capabilities in terms of performance and luxury. With its breathtaking speed and meticulous design, this tender offers an unforgettable experience for speed enthusiasts and yacht owners looking for the best possible support.’
Technical and functional innovations
The SportJet 520 incorporates a number of technical improvements that not only enhance its performance, but make the overall experience even safer and more comfortable. The jet propulsion system is particularly responsive, guaranteeing precise manoeuvrability even at low speeds and reducing risks thanks to the absence of exposed moving parts, making it perfect for those who wish to swim or dive in safety. The wide rear platform is designed for easy access to the water, while a removable ski pole allows users to enjoy water sports such as wakeboarding.
Another clever innovation concerns the seats, which can be easily transformed into a sunbathing area thanks to hinges. To further improve comfort, a fold-down rear footrest has been added. The storage aspect has also been optimised: the front bow can be deflated for easy storage and automatically inflated at the touch of a button, ensuring maximum convenience.
Commitment to craftsmanship and quality
Williams Jet Tenders is world-renowned for its high-quality jet tenders and ongoing commitment to innovation. Founded in 2004 by Roy Parker and brothers Mathew and John Hornsby, the company has grown rapidly to become an industry leader, designing the first 4-stroke, turbojet tender. With an 80,000 square foot facility in Oxfordshire and over 140 employees, the company employs highly skilled engineers to ensure that each tender is hand built and water tested before delivery, ensuring the highest quality and safety.
A range of models for every need
In addition to the new SportJet 520, Williams Jet Tenders offers a full range of models to meet the needs of all types of yachts. The Minijet 280, for example, is lightweight and compact, designed for yachts from 40 feet upwards, while the Turbojet 285 and 325 models offer power and practicality for luxury yachts with large garages. The Sportjet line, of which the 520 is a part, includes various models suitable for water sports enthusiasts, with a capacity ranging from five to seven people.
For those looking for an even more spacious and comfortable tender, Williams offers the Dieseljet range, which includes models such as the 415 and 625, capable of accommodating up to 12 people. Finally, for those who want the ultimate in luxury, the Evojet 70 and its electric version represent the top of the range, with a length of 23 feet and a capacity of 13 people.
