Not far from Trieste there is a small jewel, a marina with houses, luxury villas and a Spa
by Niccolo Volpati
Bring the sea to where there isn’t one. This was the mission of the builders of Portopiccolo. Formerly the place was a derelict and abandoned pit. Today it is a marina with 121 mooring berths on the Gulf of Trieste. But this is not all.
There are three types of buildings overlooking the port, the houses in the borough, the terraced houses and the villas all with a view of the sea. What about the cars?
The parking areas have been dug into the rock face at several levels, therefore they are totally invisible. The advantage is that the pit did not belong to the state and the houses were not built on an already existing shore, therefore houses and mooring berths can be purchased.
Many lifts inclined and dug into the rock face make movement from one level to another very easy. There are four swimming pools, the biggest one reserved for the residents is an infinity pool which overlooks the bay from 60 metres high up.
Security is guaranteed 24/7. Buyers can also take advantage of the Rental Program system using the house during the period they prefer and renting it out for the rest of the time, in this way producing an income.
