Neel Trimarans, the French sailing trimarans yard, announced the creation of its new brand of motor vessels, Leen Trimarans, at the last boot Dusseldorf. The two models currently under construction are the Leen 56 and Leen 72 (opening picture)
The designers of the new range are Bernard Nivelt and Pierre Frutschi, the main propulsion is entrusted to a heavy-duty diesel engine with a shaft-line transmission in the central hull, while two electrically-powered pods are housed on the side, assisted by a generator. In addition to helping with maneuvering, they also act as emergency engines. A full-electric version is also being developed.
Leen 56
The main deck will feature a large galley, a dining area, and the owner’s cabin. The owner’s cabin occupies the trimaran’s entire starboard side. The bed and office area on the main deck level. A few steps down to the hull’s lower level there is a head with shower and separate toilet. The saloon- wheelhouse, entirely glazed, located at the front of the boat accessible by a few steps from the saloon, features a 290° panoramic view.
The wheelhouse layout makes it possible to combine a corner sofa, a TV screen and a space dedicated to navigation. The navigation station can accommodate two people. A gangway door gives direct access to the deck to facilitate mooring maneuvers. Protected by the high bulwark encircling the deck, the exterior circulation on each side is carried out along covered exterior gangways.
The standard layout includes 3 double cabins with shower rooms. The two other double cabins are fitted in the central and portside hulls. The Leen 56 can be fitted with additional single-bed cabins and separate shower rooms. In the 6-cabin layout, it can accommodate up to 10 passengers. The layout and fixtures of the outdoor areas (cockpit and flybridge) are left to the buyer’s desires.

Leen 72
Designed by Pierre Frutschi, the layout includes 4 double cabins with shower rooms. The saloon and galley are on the main deck on the same level as the cockpit.
The Saloon-Wheelhouse features the same characteristics of the 57 one. However, the greater volume makes possible to combine a U-shaped sofa, a large TV screen, a desk and a space dedicated to navigation in the wheelhouse.
Access to the flybridge is via the cockpit or from inside via the deck lounge. The owner’s cabin with private bathroom and office occupies the front part of the trimaran’s middle hull.
A guest cabin with private bathroom is fitted in the back part of the middle hull. Two other double cabins with private head can be found in the hulls.
The Leen 72 can be fitted with additional single-bed cabins and separate shower rooms. In the 6-cabin layout, the Leen 72 accommodates up to 10 passengers.
