Quick in Düsseldorf shows the Intercepta X Series designed for 50′ to 130′ yachts that is highly customizable and tailor-made
Watchword: stabilization. Quick at the Düsseldorf 2024 boot presents its new range of Intercepta trim correctors devoted to customization and personalization. Launched under the MC2 brand and part of Quick’s advanced Seacentric System, Intercepta’s X-Series offers four standard models for yachts from 50′ to 130′ and the ability to customize the product according to customer needs.
The X Series joins the existing IN Series from the plug-and-play Dna, designed for yachts from 20′ to 130′, as an integral part of the MC2 range along with Viator fins and Quick Gyro stabilization units. The goal is to give shipyards the ability to better adapt the product when designing new models.
While the IN Series consists of five standard models that can be combined in multiple installations of up to eight trim correctors, the X Series is obtained through a machining process and consists of four standard models: the X50, X65, X80 and X100. The product is designed to be highly customizable and tailor-made, and can be customized in width down to the centimeter, as well as allowing the inboard motor to be installed in any position and orientation along the length of the product. A solution that provides maximum flexibility, not only to ensure effective dynamic response, but also to fit perfectly into any hull.
“We will assist the construction site in defining their needs, correctly sizing the system they wish to install, as well as adapting the location of the motor according to the available space,” says Lorenzo Mongiardo, Quick Group R&D manager. “The X-Series offers highly customized solutions to construction sites in order to achieve a more advanced and efficient system, while plug-and-play compatibility with Seacentric and Xenta system components and architecture ensures efficient and immediately available control. MC2 products can be effectively integrated into the vessel’s control system, and all system elements are designed to provide maximum performance and meet the needs of any shipyard.”
All the elements of the Seacentric system-the Viator fins for active stabilization while underway, the Quick Gyro for stabilization at rest, and the Intercepta solutions for pitch control while underway-are available and highly performant in stand-alone mode but, when integrated, offer shipyards and their customers a highly advanced and integrated solution that takes a 360-degree interactive approach that goes far beyond conventional roll stabilization. Proprietary software based on active algorithms coordinates the response of each system-fins, gyroscope and interceptor-which takes full advantage of the strength of each component, which results in an extraordinary level of comfort for boaters in every situation through static and dynamic stabilization both while sailing and at anchor. The system calculates and exploits the dynamic responses of each system component, combining their respective strengths and ensuring maximum effectiveness in all conditions.
