Boffi De Padova, rules of Living

The offer of Boffi De Padova Group, run by Roberto Gavazzi, is based on a modern industrial vision and a philosophy of life inspired by ancient values

by Francesco Michienzi

The rules of living have undergone a radical change in recent years in the name of a strong respect for the environment, for our health and for the situations we experience in our homes and on board our boats. The new paradigms have shown that our spaces do not meet the current needs imposed by social life. A phenomenon that has inspired new ideas from architects and designers.

Boffi’s design philosophy is clearly expressed in the way the company not only develops individual projects with unique personalities, but also in its ability to pursue projects that create different moods and unite different entities. This interior design philosophy makes it possible to create environments that are in harmony with the way people really experience their homes.

Spaces are becoming more complex and hybrid, transforming from places of work to places of leisure and communal living, also thanks to the most innovative domotics that will allow us to enjoy immersive screenings while watching a film, making a conference call or taking a virtual trip with augmented reality. And let’s not forget fitness areas or kitchen gardens.

Flexibility and intelligent use of space are at the heart of Boffi’s integrated design offer, where everything is linked by an imperceptible thread.

Outdoor spaces will become extensions of our everyday living space, with modular, hybrid, assemblable structures that can be dismantled and combined as required.

We are moving from smart, digitalised cities to safe cities, where technology and security are in dialogue. In this scenario, the most prestigious names in Italian design are moving from being mere furniture manufacturers to integrated systems that solve the problem of living in every respect.

PAUL SMITH + DE PADOVA’S EVERYDAY COLLECTION IS CHARACTERISED BY AN EXPERT USE OF COLOUR THAT MOVES SKILFULLY
AND EFFORTLESSLY BETWEEN THE CLASSIC AND THE VIBRANT.

Among these groups, Boffi De Padova represents the top offers of articulated interior design solutions where sophistication and modern elegance are key. The group’s portfolio includes four brands: Boffi, De Padova, MA/U Studio & ADL, each with its own identity. Each one of them is focused on a kind of Made in Italy design that makes no compromise on quality, and each one bases its commitment on a contemporary furniture proposal defined by a timeless aesthetic and functionality.

De Padova’s multifaceted and refined language is a story whose protagonists are shapes dressed in materials and fabrics told by the masters of Italian and international design. The brand’s collaborations express heritage, contemporary savoir-faire and cultural references.

The range of interior design proposals by Boffi De Padova offers a unique synergy. Each element in the collections of the four brands is designed as an independent piece, defined by essential beauty and strict craftsmanship. At the same time, however, each piece is perfectly in line with the other elements in the offer, thus creating distinctive scenarios underlined by a refined contemporaneity. The proposal made by the Group headed by Roberto Gavazzi includes modern furniture composed of highly customizable kitchens, bathrooms and wardrobe systems by Boffi; the discrete and elegant collection of furniture and lighting by De Padova; the adjustable shelving systems and minimal furniture by MA/U Studio; and sophisticated partition systems and doors by ADL.

DE PADOVA’S PHILOSOPHY IS BASED ON SUSTAINABILITY, QUALITY
AND CUSTOMISATION, DRIVEN BY VALUES SUCH AS CARE, INNOVATION AND EXCELLENCE, COMBINED WITH A DEEP RESPECT
FOR THE BRAND’S HISTORY.

Boffi De Padova’s way of living is made of details, gestures, and habits interwoven within a rich tapestry that proudly conveys its history through a proposal of systems for interior living whose founding values are quality, leisure, and consistency. Gavazzi envisions a future in which “we aim at designing for a high-end, sophisticated and international audience spread over all five continents”.

The Cinetica collection by ADL, designed by Massimo Luca, is characterised by a very strong and innovative aesthetic, inspired by the artistic images of the 1960s, when visual expression sought a sense of movement. The Cinetica wardrobe door is the result of an ingenious combination of cannulated solid wood inserted into the cladding of an aluminium supporting structure with different orientations. A door with a surprising personality.

Our projects offer a global perspective, communicated in a unique language that conveys a visual and tactile aesthetic. The shapes of kitchens, bathrooms, shelving and wardrobe systems fill spaces with cutting-edge materials and functions that translate tradition and personal style into a new and modern vision.

These living systems enhance the home with vibrant colours, practical compositions and architectural displays, creating a living environment in which everything is linked by a common design concept that is almost imperceptible.

Above, the Shoji screen is assembled into a fine lattice in straight-grained Akita cedar and finished without paint to bring out the original texture and aroma of the cedar. To the right, is Oke by Time & Style, which has transformed Japanese cedar into a modern everyday object. Made using traditional Japanese techniques, Oke’s unique construction gives it a truly distinctive character.

For a home accessory like a coat hanger, the natural look is as important as its function. The Branch of Maple hanger is made from carefully carved solid maple wood. The smooth texture of the maple and the tanned leather strap will develop a pleasant patina over time.

The Group has placed elite collaborations at the heart of its design offer, integrating ranges and revisiting icons of the past with a review of materials and combinations that respond to the evolution of tastes and trends. In terms of sustainability, Boffi De Padova shares the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals and the European Green Deal’s roadmap towards total decarbonisation by 2050.
