LGCT Jumping de Monaco, sport and entertainment in Port Hercule

The fourteenth edition of the LGCT Jumping de Monaco marks the mid-cycle stage of the annual horse-jumping competition. For three days, from 27 to 29 June, Port Hercule de Monte-Carlo will transform into a real equestrian festival, which will gather the best athletes on the planet.

After Stockholm and Cascais, with their large arenas, the athletes of the LGCT will compete this time on one of the smallest tracks of the circuit (2,025m²) and on technical trails designed by Franck Rothenberger.

The Principality of Monaco will have the honor to welcome once again the elite of the discipline, which will compete for the prize of 100,000 euros and the final in Prague.

British champion Ben Maher, who finished third in the LGCT classification with 187 points, will certainly try to take advantage of the absence of his rivals, Belgian Pieter Devos (206 points) and German Daniel Deusser (190 points). However, he will face tough competition, such as Swiss Martin Fuchs, number 3 in the world, who has already won two Grand Prix this season, Australian Edwina Tops-Alexander, who won the LGCT circuit in 2011 and 2012, as well as the Super Grand Prix in Prague last December, and the father-son couple Eric and Maikel van der Vleuten, who will compete both individually and in teams.

Among those who have already won awards in Monaco, there will also be Kevin Staut (FRA), Emanuele Gaudiano (ITA), Alberto Zorzi (ITA) and Shane Breen (IRL).

As for the GCL (Global Championship League), the London Knights team will try to maintain its slight advantage and will field the aforementioned champions Ben Maher and Martin Fuchs, as well as the Swiss Paul Estermann. However, there will also be the Shanghai Swans (Pius Schwizer and Kim Emmen) and the Madrid in Motion (Maikel van der Vleuten, Eric van der Vleuten, Cindy van der Straten) teams, competing for the victory and giving a show to the public. Few places are still available for the main events, while entrance to the intermediate events during the day will be free.
