The event, directed for the fifth consecutive year by Stefano Raimondi, with Elena Forin as deputy artistic director, has undergone a major organisational overhaul, intending to maintain the high quality of the exhibiting galleries and the accompanying projects, which year after year strengthen the alliance with the city’s businesses, institutions and cultural fabric.

Stefano Raimondi said: “The next edition of ArtVerona has been configured as a platform of exchanges, capable of reflecting on current events through a variety of proposals. The fair has been able to create a precise identity, nourished by new initiatives, with the participation of numerous galleries, the commissioning of important works to Italian and international artists, the participation of foundations, archives and artists’ studios, the open dialogue with the city and the attention paid to collectors and the business community. The 2024 edition of ArtVerona completes the path begun five years ago to promote and enhance the Italian art system thanks to Ugo Rondinone’s extraordinary site- and time-specific intervention, Fabio Mauri’s Habitat, which for the first time brings together the entire Zerbini corpus, Mario Merz’s project at GAM, the programme of welcoming galleries and collectors, the numerous awards and many other proposals at the fair and in the city”.

Patrizia Nuzzo, curator in charge of GAM’s collection of modern and contemporary art, said: “The participation of the Civic Museums in the programming of ArtVerona’s events dedicated to contemporary art is renewed through various collaborations that will take place in several museum locations, including the exhibition dedicated to Mario Merz”.
