In its 150-year history, the Swiss Maison of Haute Horlogerie has established itself with objects of extraordinary quality and precision
FOUNDED IN 1865 BY GEORGES FAVRE-JACOT, THE MANUFACTURE has had in its 150-year history numerous successes. Among these is the ‘Academy Christophe Colomb Hurricane’ with its ‘Gravity Control’ self-regulating gyroscopic module, which keeps the regulating organ in a horizontal position regardless of the inclination of the watch to ensure the best possible timekeeping precision. The movement, an ‘El Primero’, also has cast-chain transmission that compensates for changes in force of the barrel during unwinding of the spring. After 5 years of research and with 939 components, of which 354 for the caliber, 173 for the ‘Gravity Control’ module and 575 for the cast-chain transmission, the ‘Academy Christophe Hurricane Zenith’ gives the definitive answer to the problem of gravity affecting proper watch functioning.
The El Primero movement is a true legend and still today, more than 40 years after its launch, it is a true point of reference in haute horolgerie. The caliber of the El Primero Chronomaster 1969 has been constantly developed over time and enhanced with cutting-edge mechanisms which have earned it numerous awards.
