Yersin, named after the legendary 19th-century scientist and explorer, was built by the French shipyard Piriou in 2015. Designed for adventure-lovers, she combines cutting-edge technology with a range of 15,000 nautical miles to allow guests to explore the most remote regions on the planet.
Yersin has been awarded a Cleanship class notation and is equipped with the most modern green technologies.
Her full-displacement steel hull and aluminium superstructure are completed by an Ice-Class classification for all-weather sailing. Her vast full-beam master suite is on the upper deck and opens onto a large private terrace, while the flexible guest accommodation features a beautiful VIP stateroom, 2 double and 4 twin cabins, each of which is equipped with a full IT and entertainment system plus ensuite bathrooms.
Yersin offers guests 2 formal dining rooms with 2 cocktail bars, and her key leisure areas include a media centre, library, 12-seat cinema, and observatory.
On the lower deck, Yersin boasts a spectacular SPA and gym area, designed to meet all her guests’ onboard fitness and wellness requirements. Complete with a hammam, hairdresser, and massage room for onboard treatments, Yersin’s wellness space also features a large SPA pool.
Yersin is a sturdy and powerful explorer yacht, with exteriors designed by Pierre Jacques Kubis. Her wide decks offer a variety of areas for relaxing and socialising outdoors, including various lounge and dining areas, as well as a large bathing platform at the stern.
Designed for long-distance missions, Yersin’s main deck has a vast multi-purpose platform that can be used to deploy specialist technical equipment including a seaplane and submarine. The boat also features a large polyvalent room that can be used as a research laboratory or classroom.
Fully equipped to explore the most remote regions on the planet, Yersin hosts a 7.3m aluminium tender, two 7.5m Zodiac Hurricanes, and a quad fitted with caterpillar tracks for ice. She has a professional diving facility plus space for jet skis, canoes, inflatable dinghies and bicycles for onshore adventures.
