YARE 2019: the meeting between shipyards, companies and commanders in Viareggio

YARE (Yachting Aftersales and Refit Experience) will be held in Viareggio from 20 to 23 March. The event, organized by NAVIGO with the support of the Technological District for the Nautical and the Tuscan Port, has reached its ninth edition. Commanders and companies will have the opportunity to discuss, giving an in-depth look at what happens in the dynamic reality of the refit.

The event will be attended by 100 captains, at the helm of yachts with a length of more than 30 meters. Boats that represent the main segment of the world’s fleet of yachts and that characterize more the market of production and refit. Most of the captains participating in YARE represent private and foreign shipowners, with a prevalence of motor yachts over sailboats.

Among the guests there are some captains at the helm of important boats, such as the Ambrosia, 65 m of the Benetti shipyard in Viareggio; the Ocean Paradise, 55 m also by Benetti; the Gio Chi Thè, 43 m motoryacht of the “Vintage” Codecasa series, designed by Tommaso Spadolini. There will also be the Sarastar, Mondomarine flagship of 60 m, designed with the collaboration of designer Luca Dini; Ice, 90 m, completed at the Lürssen shipyard in Bremen designed by Tim Heywood; the historic ship launched in 1921 SS Delphine of 79 m, the only one, among all the large steam yachts built in America between 1893 and 1930, left with the original engines still in service; AnniVenti, a 27 m schooner, a jewel of Viareggio boating, one of the oldest pleasure boats, built in 1925 by Giovanni Battisti; Areti, 85 m long, by Lürssen; Nourah of Riyadh by Yachtley, built in Turkey, with interior and exterior design by Donald Starkey. Finally, the Yaakun, from the Nicolini shipyard in Ancona in 1987, adapted in 2007.

YARE will also have a strong participation of companies. The event confirms itself as a strategic appointment for the leading shipyards at international level in the field of refitting and new constructions operating in the Mediterranean area and northern Europe: Italy, France, Monaco, Spain, Holland, Germany, England, are, as always, the countries from which most of the participants come.

Some of the names that will be present at the event include Lürssen, NCA Refit, Lusben, Orbis Yacht, Fincantieri, Overmarine, Baglietto, Amico&Co, Rosetti Superyachts, and Palumbo superyachts, Pinmar, Astilleros de Mallorca and WinterHaven.

The return of companies from the Eastern Mediterranean/Adriatic area, from Montenegro to Turkey and the participation of networks of refit companies such as, for example, the TRS – Trieste Refitting System, should also be highlighted.

The membership of the most important Dutch association in the sector, HISWA, has been renewed also for this edition, and together with Port of Amsterdam it will also be present with the brand Amsterdam Your Superyacht Destination.

Still on the subject of associations, YARE sees the active participation of UCINA Confindustria Nautica and the patronage of Nautica Italiana.

As for the operational and technical realities, YARE hosts leaders in the painting sector such as Jotun and Boero, as well as a long list of companies specialized in supply and design such as Metrica, Protea, Lanka Marine, Fabbri Fiore, Castor Marine, Boning, Femo Bunker.

Among the service and management agencies, there will be Luise, H&H, De Felice Maritime Consulting and Yacht Management and Rosemont.
