WHY200: the full-wide-body by Wally

WHY200 has been developed by the Wally design team led by Luca Bassani together with Ferretti Group Engineering Department, Laurent Giles NA for naval architecture and Studio A. Vallicelli & C for interior design.

The new Wally WHY200 combines space and speed thanks to the four Volvo Penta D13 IPS1050 in the standard version or D13 IPS1350 in the optional one. The length of construction allows it to be registered as a boat under 24 meters. It has over 200 square meters of interior with three-four double cabins for guests and an open space salon served by a structural carbon staircase that connects the three decks, and 144 square meters of outdoor living areas.

The glass structure that entirely wraps around the main deck, which has long been in Wally’s plans, freed up extra volume inside that was used to create a spacious master suite forward of the main deck. Its large windows offer uninterrupted 200-degree views in direct contact with the sea.

The outdoor areas are protected from sun, wind and rain for maximum outdoor enjoyment. An extended pillarless overhang above the main deck aft and flanking glass panels provide shelter to the alfresco dining and lounging area, creating a single environment with the open-space salon that extends seamlessly outside.

The concept of inside-outside living typical of Wally is also found on the upper deck, characterized by the glass and carbon superstructure iconic of Wallypower, which houses the sky lounge and the wheelhouse.

The folding aft bulwarks expand the beach club and give access to the sea on three sides, while two garages house numerous water toys and a large tender. WHY200 is perfectly placed between the voluminous but slower yachts and the planing ones, fast but inevitably contained in the spaces. The hull has been tested in a naval tank and optimized to ensure the highest level of comfort at different speeds.

The WHY200 will be unveiled at the Ferretti Group Private Preview in Monaco in early September 2021.
