Announced in July, the wallywhy150 was realised by the Wally-Ferretti Group Engineering team, in collaboration with Studio A. Vallicelli & C, which signed the interior design
Wally publishes new details of the wallywhy150, the latest model in the wallywhy semi-displacement range. The new model featuring a sporty pilothouse design is developed with the same concept as its predecessor, the wallywhy200.
Stefano de Vivo, Wally’s Managing Director, explains: “The upper deck is completely open and offers a sheltered space equivalent to that of a 40-metre yacht. On board you can choose whether to dine on the sundeck, relax on the large sunbathing area or in the shaded lounge: the open-air spaces occupy almost the entire length of the boat, so you are spoilt for choice! This layout is much appreciated by owners who consider contact with the water essential”.

Stefano de Vivo says: “The outdoor areas are really huge and never seen before on boats of this size”.
“Another important detail of the wallywhy150,” continues de Vivo, “are the full-height windows, a distinctive feature of the yacht. The large windows that seamlessly embrace the exterior continue into the interior, so that even from the sofa or dining table, one always feels immersed in the surroundings. The use of so much glass obviously represented a major technical challenge for our engineers, but to rewrite the parameters of design, one must have the courage to push the boundaries. Another distinctive choice is to have a height in the saloon that reaches 2.5 metres in places, a normal measure for an 80-metre superyacht, but an innovative one for this category of yachts”.

The interior layout of the wallywhy150 includes – as on the wallywhy200 – a master cabin forward of the main deck that offers a 270-degree panoramic view, thanks to the very high bow. This layout of the master cabin is unprecedented for yachts of this size where it is usually positioned amidships on the lower deck. The layout of the lower deck can be configured with 2 VIP cabins or with 1 VIP cabin + 1 guest: they are all pervaded with light, thanks to the large openings which, as well as creating a fresh, airy atmosphere, give a modern, refined look to the environment.
Luca Bassani, Founder and Chief Designer Wally, underlines the characteristics of the wallywhy150: “The key to the success of this boat, the distinctive trait that makes it attractive to a wide range of customers, is the essentiality and accessibility of the layout: the wallywhy150 is in fact a flexible platform, ideal for those who want a different type of cruising than classic planing yachts. Moreover, it is the first boat with direct access to the sea at cockpit level, without the need for stairs, like a loft on the water. Aware, finally, that today’s owners prefer activities in contact with the sea, we have placed great emphasis on these aspects in the design of the wallywhy150”.

An example of this is the aft deck, which has been transformed into a veritable terrace overlooking the sea with a multi-purpose hydraulic ladder/walkway and hydraulic platform. Owners can equip this area as they wish with space to take on board all kinds of water toys, as well as a large 3.95-metre tender.
With optional propulsion of three Ips1350s, Wally‘s wallywhy150 reaches a top speed of 23 knots, while with the standard propulsion of three IPS1200 engines, it travels at 21 knots. The first unit of the wallywhy150 will be launched in February 2023 and is scheduled to make its world debut in the spring.
