Victorious, built by AKYACHT, is an 85-metre superyacht available to charter or buy from Burgess
by Claudia Giulia Ferrauto
Travelling the world by boat can be an unforgettable experience. With Burgess, however, you can visit dream destinations while being pampered with fine cuisine onboard and enjoying services tailored to your demands. The superyacht Victorious is an explorer with a steel hull and an aluminium superstructure, built to Lloyd’s classification and with MCA LY2 compliance, and capable of travelling all around the world.
The slender profile of the bow and its overall proportions – 85 m long and a maximum beam of 14 m – give the superyacht a sleek, tapered look. It has five and a half decks, connected by an internal lift and a double staircase, one for the owner and his guests and the other for the crew, ensuring the utmost privacy throughout one’s stay on board.
The interior design is simple and agreeable in its clear yet understated elegance, with a mix of sophisticated timbers, soft, bright fabrics and floors made of various types of marble.
The indoor spaces reveal a clear taste for understated, timeless beauty, elegantly combining refined stylistic choices with precious materials including various types of marble, alabaster, fabrics, leather and various contrasting fine timbers. These come together in a sophisticated and functional overall design, with the lighting also playing a vital role, highlighting the refinement of the various rooms. The boat can house up to 24 people, plus the crew and the high-quality stabilisers ensure unparalleled comfort whenever the boat is at anchor. The exterior is the work of Michael Leach Design, while H2 Yacht Design produced the interior design.
In addition to the master suite for the owner, Victorious has another eleven guest cabins, including some double cabins for children, suites and VIP cabins, meaning up to 24 people can be welcomed on board. There are also 12 cabins for the 25-person crew.
Presented by Burgess at the most recent Monaco Yacht Show, Victorious immediately received widespread interest as a result of its distinctive characteristics that make it perfect for luxury cruises and long voyages with the whole family. If you are renting an explorer that is capable of circumnavigating the globe, you want something more than a standard yacht, and Burgess has equipped Victorious with countless special features to treat guests.
The number of options and services on offer is immense. Just to give you an idea, the communal spaces on the various decks include a proper cinema room and two living rooms, one with a breathtaking view across the sea and a baby grand piano, and one that is cosier and more private, with a luxurious sit-up bar. Then there is a sophisticated dining room, a cigar club room with a fireplace, and an extensive full-beam saloon, including a living area, dining area and sit-up bar, with a 180° sea view. And that’s just for starters! No detail has been overlooked by Burgess: from wine tasting and fine cuisine to a barman who specialises in incredible drinks and cocktails, everything is designed to make the owners happy and provide plenty of moments to remember and describe when they return home.
The outdoor spaces allow guests to meet in different areas, leaving them spoilt for choice: do they go for a swim in the beach club pool, enjoy the panorama from the sundeck while tasting a cocktail or fine wine recommended by the Burgess-approved mixologist, or relax in the open-air jacuzzi on the upper deck.
One major amenity onboard is the 200 m² beach club on the lower deck, with a pool that can be used either covered or in an open summer version by lowering the stern platform and the two side wings. There are large sunbathing areas and open-air living spaces along with all decks, and not one, but two jacuzzis, one for the exclusive use of the owner, to relax in by day or to look up at the stars during warm summer nights. Burgess also offers the opportunity to stay on track with your fitness, with professional supervision from personal trainers for guests in the gym, which has a terrace overlooking the sea, and with staff in the beauty salon available to look after the owner and their family and satisfy their every desire, from massages to a SPA and a hammam.
With Burgess, there is no risk of getting bored on Victorious. While some may wish to bask in the sun while sipping fine wines recommended by the mixologist, others may want to try out something more dynamic. There is even a drone pilot available for anyone who wants to learn how to film unforgettable moments from a unique viewpoint, as well as a team of professionals ready to welcome guests to the RYA training centre. And if you think that vast array of options might be all, think again! Burgess has yet more surprises in store for the owner.
There are four tenders on board, including a fully customised limousine catamaran, a tender designed for recreational fishing, one dedicated to water sports, a jet ski and a water scooter, plus paddleboards, jet surf and foil boards and at least four different ways of water skiing. All the water toys can be used under the close supervision of the on-board staff, who are trained to a high standard by Burgess.
You can also create a natural pool by immersing a lightweight mesh structure in the water, allowing children to enjoy the sea safe from any jellyfish. And if you suddenly need to get to a business meeting or welcome friends from a long way away, no problem: the Touch & Go helipad on Victorious can be used for take-offs and landings in an AC145. Circumnavigating the globe is already a unique experience, but with Burgess, it will be a memorable holiday that will prove hard to beat.
