Tankoa Yachts presents the 70-meter Milano

Developed in conjunction with Nauta Design, the Milano project adds to the Tankoa range and underscores the shipyard’s desire to continue to evolve by collaborating with leading designers

The Milano project boasts considerable dimensions, measuring 70 meters in overall length, with a beam of 11.80 meters and a draft of 3.50 meters. The exteriors feature pure and balanced, modern and refined lines and reflect a timeless design intrinsic to the DNA of Tankoa and Nauta Design.

Vincenzo Poerio, CEO of Tankoa Yachts, comments, “The 70mt Milano embodies our vision of excellence, blending cutting-edge technology and meticulous attention to detail. Collaborating with Nauta Design, with whom we share a rich history of mutual respect and friendship that has persisted for three decades, is truly rewarding.”

“The elongated horizontal lines create a seamless connection with the sea surface and the horizon, providing an intimate connection with the surroundings,” says Mario Pedol, Co-founder of Nauta, describing the design ethos of the project. “The Milano project incorporates clean forms and harmonious volumes that lead to a visual effect of lightness, purity and serenity. Nauta is thrilled to work with Tankoa, a shipyard renowned for its professionalism and dedication to excellence, combined with a high sensitivity in terms of elegance: qualities that have enabled it to become a major player in the superyacht world.”

Tankoa and Nauta named this new project Milan, drawing inspiration from the city itself, which reflects various aspects of the project. Being the hometown of Nauta Design and synonymous with elegance, aesthetic sensibility and intelligent design, Milan becomes a more than appropriate symbol, a place where creative ideas are transformed into concrete realities.

The main features of Tankoa Milano

At the center of this design is the aft area, designed to immediately capture attention. It includes a beach club with a lounge area equipped with a convertible gym, a relaxation area with sauna and massage room, and fold-down sidewalls that open to sea level. An elegant outdoor pool also makes a fine display, accompanied by a large sunbathing area that can be fully customized to the owner’s preferences.

Knocking down the side bulwarks further expands the beach-club space, transforming it into a private beachfront lounge, providing additional space for complete relaxation. A key feature of the design is the single-level engine room located below the lower deck, providing a direct passage from the guest quarters to the beach club on the lower deck. On the lower deck, adjacent to the four guest suites, there is a garage specifically for water toys and diving equipment, a laundry, crew quarters, twelve cabins, and a gymnasium both for crew use. On the main deck, guests face an open-air lounge connected to the beach club by central stairs, followed by the main salon and dining area. Further forward, there are two spacious VIP suites with wrap-around terraces, a galley, and a front garage capable of accommodating two tenders, 9 meters and 8.5 meters long respectively.

Devoted entirely to the owner, the upper deck boasts an expansive owner’s stateroom with breathtaking panoramic views forward, complemented by access to a private pool and forward helipad. This luxurious suite includes a walk-in wardrobe, His and Her bathrooms, and a study.

Moving aft, there is the panoramic salon and open-air dining area. On the bridge deck, in addition to the wheelhouse, we find the captain’s cabin and a cinema room for guest entertainment. The sundeck features another outdoor lounge area equipped with a bar, sunbeds and two L-shaped sofas facing forward, providing the perfect setting for enjoying breathtaking views.

Environmentally conscious diesel-electric propulsion

In line with Tankoa‘s commitment to sustainable technologies, the Milano project supports a diesel-electric propulsion system. This innovative system includes four variable speed generators (CAT C32, with a maximum power output of 940 ekW) tasked with supplying electricity to two electric motors, each rated at 1,650 kW, enabling a maximum speed of 16.5 knots and powering on-board hotel services. The yacht will be equipped with fuel cells capable of providing up to 200 kW of power. Tankoa is working with leading industry suppliers to integrate methanol fuel cells, which currently offer the best combination of sustainability, comfort and safety. This initiative remains open to future advances in technologies for safe and efficient hydrogen storage.
