On the 4th of April 2024, the Yacht Club de Monaco and Bluewater joined forces once again to orchestrate the highly anticipated 5th Superyacht Chef Competition. Nestled within the esteemed La Belle Classe Academy training center, this culinary extravaganza summoned the crème de la crème of fine cuisine, both in the kitchen and at the judging panel.

Under the expert guidance of Chef Joël Garault, President of Goûts et Saveurs, this year’s event unfolded with an air of excitement and anticipation. An esteemed international jury, led by Chef Glenn Viel, the acclaimed three-Michelin star chef from Oustau de Baumanière, gathered to savour the culinary delights presented before them. Industry luminaries such as Chef Danny Davies and Chef Julien Roucheteau joined the panel, poised to crown the culinary virtuoso among the competing superyacht chefs.

Culinary Artistry Takes Center Stage

Nine talented superyacht chefs graced the quay, each tasked with crafting delectable dishes from a basket of mystery ingredients unveiled just moments before the competition commenced. Paulo Ucha Longhin emerged victorious with his inspired creation of glazed lobster adorned with hazelnut butter and bisque, accompanied by a lemon tartare and caviar. His dessert, featuring mascarpone cream with cocoa and strawberry tartare with basil and lemon cream, captivated both judges and spectators alike.

Combining Creativity with Sustainability

In an era where sustainability reigns supreme, this year’s competition introduced an anti-food waste criterion, overseen by Chef Duncan Biggs. Contestants were challenged to utilize every ingredient from the mystery basket or face penalties, aligning with the Yacht Club de Monaco’s commitment to corporate social responsibility.
