Sunseeker’s Predator 55: innovation and luxury in Cannes

Sunseeker is bringing a fleet of yachts to the French Riviera for this year’s Cannes Yachting Festival. The 2024 edition, to be held from 10 to 15 September, is one of the most scintillating events of the year in the yachting world, where the best designs and technical innovations on the market will be presented. Sunseeker, one of the main exhibitors, will present an extraordinary range of nine yachts ranging from 55 to 100 feet. Among an outstanding range of products, the world premiere of the brand new Predator 55 will be on display.

The newest performance yacht in the iconic Sunseeker Predator range marks 30 years of design evolution. Today, performance comes in many forms, from stabilisation and comfort to fuel efficiency and effortless manoeuvrability.

Andrea Frabetti, CEO of Sunseeker International, commented: ‘Rooted in performance, the Predator 55 is pure Sunseeker blood. The launch of this fun yacht is a significant milestone for our brand. Naturally, the Predator 55 is one of nine world-leading yachts in the Sunseeker fleet ready to impress visitors to the largest yachting event in the Mediterranean.”

Predator 55: a distinctive design

The Predator 55 is distinguished by its distinctive curved silhouette and sloping canopy design, making it unique among 55-foot yachts. Powered by Volvo Penta IPS 950 engines delivering 1,450 horsepower, this yacht can reach speeds of up to 36 knots. Notable features include retractable windows and a carbon fibre canopy that offers a breathtaking view of the sky. The yacht features an integrated tender garage for a Williams TurboJet 325, a hydraulic swim platform and an aft sundeck. With newly styled exterior seating, the Predator 55 offers a spacious aft cockpit. Retractable rear doors perfectly connect the side galley units with the cockpit bar, creating a harmonious layout between interior and exterior.

Inside, the Predator 55 offers an upholstered sofa, an L-shaped seating area and a formal dining area with an expandable table for superior comfort. The foredeck features comfortable seating, a sundeck with integrated storage space and a carbon fibre sun sail for protection from the sun.

A gyro option reduces roll at anchor, ensuring maximum comfort. The customisable interior layout allows flexibility, such as relocating the main deck galley to the lower deck to accommodate additional seating and a hideaway TV. The lower deck space can be converted into a double cabin with en-suite bathroom, accommodating up to six guests. The Predator 55 introduces a new collection of interior fabrics and finishes, developed in collaboration with Design Unlimited, offering a versatile range of colours and materials that can be customised to suit each owner’s preferences.
