The day of the launch of the Bolide 80 is approaching. Drawn up by Brunello Acampora, the founder of Victory Design, it continues in the tradition of the great Italian car designers

Eighty feet of sculptured beauty are a homage to the sporty shapes of Italy, to its great car designers and to that very Italian ability to blend art with science, technical skill with the invention.
THIS HYPER MUSCLE YACHT IS ENTIRELY MADE FROM CARBON FIBRE, WITH CUSTOMISED STRENGTHENERS MADE BY MICROTEX
AND STRUCTURAL CORES FROM DIAB.
It is a work of art that has also emerged from the teamwork of many different talents, as is all the work done by Victory Design. The firm has designed and built a missile over 24 metres long, completely in carbon fibre and packs six thousand horsepower, allowing it to break the 70-knot barrier and cruise at over fifty. To experience the undeniable thrill of speed in total comfort and safety. Plan trips that no motor boat could let you do because of its size, range and speed.
«THESE ARE TRUE JEWELS, COLLECTORS’ ITEMS, THAT ARE CUSTOM BUILT
AND NOT PART OF A PRODUCTION PROCESS, WHERE EACH YACHT IS A UNIQUE
AND EXCLUSIVE PIECE».
BRUNELLO ACAMPORA
Brunello Acampora, founder and driving spirit behind Victory Design, has had a vision of yachting that is innovative and ambitious and has put forward a design for a boat that is similar to a high-performance hypercar.
This is a design project that few could handle, that was pushed for by experts, people who were convinced that much more could be done and that it could be done better. It is a paean to sustainable speed, with low ecological impact thanks to the research done into hull efficiency, the transmission system and the obsessive lightness of every component.
The interiors have been designed to bring out the best Italian craftsmanship, with exposed carbon fibre, expensive hand-stitched leather from the best artisan workshops, lightweight marble in the bathrooms, and advanced home automation devices.
The large roof, which is shaped to reduce drag, protects the cockpit from the wind and the sun. The cockpit is enormous, with tables, a sun pad that is safe even when underway, and comfortable functional furniture. Two enclosed walkways create a safe path to the large sun pad in the bow.
The Bolide 80 is the founding father of a new range of Hyper Muscle Yachts, which will range from 70 to 170 feet. The design project was presented at the most recent Monaco Yacht Show, and it is a yacht that features strong design and performance, in which guest privacy lives alongside a total projection of the interiors towards the broad expanses of the sea. Of course, this is all done at a speed that is as yet unheard of on a yacht of over fifty metres.
The efficiency and smoothness of a hull that is Victory made, which glides across a film of air and water in a way that no other water jet-powered boat can, with a drastic reduction in resistance from friction. Not just to be the fastest, but also to reduce fuel consumption per mile: any yacht of a similar size with a flybridge would use at least double. Two revolutionary rudders, dihedral and independent of one another, produce extraordinary control and also deliver trim when underway as if they were foils. While the three T-Drive surface propellers automatically take on the ideal trim angle, controlled by special cylinders developed by Flexitab for the toughest types of boat racing.
The interiors of the first unit produced, which has been entirely customised, include a large lounge that the owner and guests will use for having dinner, watching films or just entertaining themselves in an air-conditioned environment, in the comfort of generous hand-stitched sofas, where leather runs alongside the carbon fibre of the hull, in complete privacy. And then there is the master suite, with a walk-through wardrobe, and an en suite bathroom. Not many guests, just very close friends, in a second cabin, that is secret and independent. A large and well-equipped kitchen, with independent access from the deck, means that the comfortable captain’s cabin can be reached without ever disturbing the privacy of the owner and guests.
The Bolide 80 can travel in complete safety and comfort at over 55 knots cruising speed, and can even go up to 75 thanks to the MAN diesel engines supplied by Ranieri & Tonissi, Victory’s technological partner.
The skill of Stefano Faggioni has enabled him to blend tradition and future to produce pieces of furniture which are unique, and entirely tailor-made, which give off a slight aroma of cedar wood and hand-stitched leather. Nothing comes as standard, everything is personalised, or custom-made: just nine Bolide 80 boats will be built, and the buyers will be able to choose every tiny detail of the setup, and themselves take part in the creation of a unique work that is full of character.
The protagonist
Brunello Acampora, founder of Victory Design.
The first unit of Bolide 80 was purchased by an extremely expert owner of fast boats, but also a lover of beauty, who customised the boat in every detail, exactly as future owners will be able to do.
Eugenio Voltolina, a well-known expert in the High-Performance world, has worked for years with the American shipyard Cigarette as well as boasting collaborations with Magnum Marine and Otam.
Massimo Bruni is an engineer who has worked with Victory Design
for twenty-five years.
Stefano Faggioni, the architect who worked hand in hand with the designers of Victory Design.
Ranieri&Tonissi, after the success of the Tecnomar Lamborghini LY63, entirely engineered by Victory around the two MAN v12 2000 engines, has allowed Bolide to move to a higher level with three engines. Upon request, a four-engine version
is also available.
