After the delivery by Lürssen at HDW Kiel in 2003, she has explored the coast of Antarctica, traversed the Northwest Passage and recovered the ship’s bell from the wreck of HMS Hood at a depth of 2.8km (1.7 miles) for the Royal Navy.

Other remarkable discoveries include the wrecks of the WWII warships USS Indianapolis and IJN Musashi off the Philippines and the aircraft carrier USS Lexington in the Coral Sea.

With diesel-electric propulsion and eight generators for support, she is a pioneering vessel in both exploration and hybrid cruising.

Octopus offers a genuine first-class experience while cruising or at anchor and has plenty of space for enjoyment and activity on board.


The full owner’s deck includes a private bar, jacuzzi, and al fresco dining area and is a true sanctuary of privacy and security.
