Oceanco: the M/Y of 109m enters the outfitting phase

The 109m is the first Oceanco project to benefit from the construction and refit facilities recently acquired by the yard. The first phase of construction has been successfully completed. The new build has now made its way up the river to Oceanco’s facilities in Alblasserdam for her outfitting phase.

Designed both internally and externally by Sinot Yacht Architecture & Design, this 109m stands out for its elegant classic proportions and a surprising amount of glass. The deckhouses – main deck, control deck and upper deck – are completely surrounded by large windows. Lateral has once again collaborated with Oceanco to design a technologically advanced propulsion system.

The new eco-friendly structures of Oceanco

The recently renovated building boasts ecological improvements and state-of-the-art technology. For example, the use of heat pumps reduces the building’s gas consumption by 50 percent. In addition, the roof is equipped with solar panels that provide around 250,000 kWh of energy per year. The eco-conscious expansion shows Oceanco’s desire to become more and more eco-sustainable.

The shipyard’s largest dry dock can accommodate yachts up to 140m in length, while the renovated outfitting facilities have been expanded to accommodate yachts up to 120m in length.

Divided into limited access zones, the new facilities ensure security and privacy for up to 1,000 people at any one time, including Oceanco’s outfitting team, subcontractors, owner’s representatives, and crew. Oceanco is now equipped to accommodate more large yachts at the same time.

In addition, Zwijndrecht‘s construction and refit facilities also allow for maintenance and extension of the longevity of the Oceanco fleet, as well as providing the possibility to carry out refit work outside. As stated by the yard, the facility is also preparing to become a hub and brain park for co-producers, as well as a training/education center.
