u AN EIGHTY-SIX METER LONG SHIP, DESIGNED BY TEAM FOR DESIGN OF ENRICO GOBBI for the Oceanco boatyard who said: «Designing my projects, when I start from a white sheet of paper as in this case, I need to find an element to be inspired with. Sometimes it comes from the automotive sector, or from harmonious natural shapes. In this case I’ve been inspired by a massive Roman construction, the biggest amphitheater in the world, that’s the Colosseum. Its colossal and complex architecture yet balanced and characterized by the elliptical shape together with the order of the external arches has been an important starting point to draw up this mega yacht’s design. Colosseum has a long hull characterized by eight extended windows which are reminiscent of the continuity of the Roman amphitheater openings. At amidships a big glass break balances the general architecture, finishing with the mast of the upper deck. This is a large glass wall which reveals the main entrance of the yacht offering the maximum external view from all the lobbies of all the decks».
Gobbi has a distinctive style able to put the formal rigor of the project together with a modern style. Colosseum 86 enhances both magnificence and refined elegance. All the spaces for the 14 guests and 28 crew members are well managed and well thought out.
