The Novamarine RH 800 is a successful model that has been repackaged in a technologically advanced version to meet the demands of modern yachtspeople

DURING ITS NEARLY FORTY-YEAR EXISTENCE, THE HISTORIC NOVAMARINE BOATYARD IN OLBIA, WHICH WAS FOUNDED IN 1983, has imposed itself with its RIBs in the international civil and military market. This extraordinary story, entirely home-grown in Italy, is the consequence of many different factors, from design – when they were able to introduce innovations at a time of great turmoil because of the arrival of fixed keel dinghies – to construction techniques, by making choices that mean that every Novamarine boat is sure to provide good performance and also to last; witness to this is a large number of boats are still in use after thirty years. Since its beginnings a lot of things have changed in the company’s structure, but not in terms of how production is managed. This is driven by a work and research group that is very active in the facilities at Olbia run by the SNO Group, which now owns the yard together with B-Shiver S.r.l., and which grew inside the Novamarine firm from the start.
A polyvalent boat, whose characteristics mean that – with the proper set-up – it can be used both as a sports RIB and a RIB for professional usages, such as diving schools and sports fishing trips.
One of the major innovations that were introduced by the yard was the use of non-pneumatic tubes made with closed-cell material; they have been a great success from a structural point of view and are now available in lengths of up to 24 meters. But the many fans of the brand have never wanted to give up RIBs with pneumatic tubes, and the yard thus sells two models with them, the RH 800 and the RH 1000.
The RH 800 respects the tradition that has made Novamarine RIBs boats of reference for fans. It is completed with accessories and an attention to design that is fitting for a boat nowadays.
The main characteristics of the RH series RIBs derive from the construction concept that has always been a feature of the Novamarine output, and which is based on top-quality material that is used to make boats with waterlines for the most demanding users, both professional and leisure time. They are boats that deliver high performance and safety levels, even in a rough sea. Those factors are the starting point for the RH 800. Although it brings with it the typical features of a Novamarine RIB – so sportiness and an aspiration to being an all-weather craft – the new RH 800also provides all the comforts that are now considered essential in a leisure boat.
It is an open RIB, with a central console and a walk-around configuration equipped with a T-Top that is harmoniously integrated with the overall look, a bow sun pad, and a bench in the stern. Many accessories have been added to make time spent at anchor with the family more comfortable, including a stern sun awning, a fixed stainless steel swimming ladder, a shower with a freshwater filtration system, USB plugs in the console, a cold storage locker, courtesy lights, and a sound system. The tubes are made from Hypalon-neoprene and are available in white or military grey. The hull comes in two versions of grey gelcoat.
The range is dictated by the two stainless steel tanks, each of 140 liters, while it can fit either one or two motors, outboard obviously, for a top power rating of 300 horsepower.
The yard also offers four versions that come as a package with Mercury engines: one with the 225 hp V6, two with the 250 hp or 300 hp V8s, and finally the double-engine option with two three-liter, 150 hp four-cylinder engines. The RH 800 from Novamarine is in production and is available to the many fans of the Italian brand, and we have good reason to believe that it will be as successful as its numerous prestigious predecessors.
