The McLaren Solus GT is one of the most incredible hypercars ever built. All 25 units have been pre-sold at 3.6 million dollars each. Its single seat is set centrally, and the cockpit opens as if it were a military jet. It was created as a provocative design, one of the many exhilarating participants from the video game Gran Turismo Sport. The emotions start even before turning on the 5.2-liter V10 engine.
Getting into the cockpit is already an experience in itself. A sophisticated mechanical lever slides open the roof, and the entire cockpit hatch moves forward along a narrow arch to reveal the single-seat interior, making it look more like a fighter plane than a car. The acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.5 seconds and a top speed of 322 km/h deliver a unique feeling.
Designed according to strict engineering and aerodynamic principles, it is a true technological sculpture, with carbon fiber bodywork and delivering supreme performance levels.
The seven-speed sequential gearbox uses racing-type linear gearing. The engine gets to over 10000 rpm and produces over 840 horsepower and 650 Nm torque. The clutch is carbon fiber with automated software to deliver the perfect balance between aggressive gear changes and simplicity of use.
