To satisfy the life style of all the boat owners, the marina offers particular and favorable conditions. Even the economic data is good
FOR MARINA DI VARAZZE, AN 18% INCREASE IN FIXED CONTRACTS SINCE 2014 is a positive sign in a market which seems to be regaining confidence. The 1200-plus days of transit registered are in line with last season’s figures. The increased use of electricity at the quay – approximately 8% – and a 12% increase in restaurant and shop spending, can be interpreted as a significant indicator of quality; a sign, in other words, that boat owners are returning to “live in the Marina” in a more active sense.
«It’s a case of cautious dynamism –, says Giorgio Casareto, – which seems to be confirmed by the first few months of 2016. January and February are in line with the positive trend of the past 18 months, a tendency that allows us to predict an overall increase in fixed contracts of around 20% by the end of the year and an increase in turnover of around 15% compared to 2015. It’s too soon to say, but the market appears to be showing signs of potentially holding up in terms of rates».
«To successfully interpret and benefit from this positive trend, – explains Liliana Molin Pradel, responsible for marketing and sales, – over the past two years Marina di Varazze has begun a programme for the relaunch of its facilities, in order to meet the changing needs of its clientele. The wide range of commercial services on offer, customised for all kinds of boat and every way of using the facilities, together with improved installations and summer entertainments, have so far proved to be a successful direction. There is no doubt that boats between 14 and 16 meters are one of the categories that have contributed most to enlivening the market and driving the upturn, thanks to the view among owners that in Marina di Varazze they find an excellent price-quality ratio, as well as good service and attention».
All the clients of the Marina, from the owner of a 5 m long boat to the crew of a yacht, can take advantage of different services both onboard and ashore, like the ‘Luxury Concierge’ on request: babysitting onboard, galley supplies, catering and sommelier onboard, cultural and wine and food tours in the Piemonte region, dog-sitting, massages and beauty treatments, service booking of moorings, hotel and shows, transfer service, technical assistance and repairs. The whole staff at your disposal to make your stay in Marina free from worry.
The solid collaboration between the marina and Varazze Club Nautico and Lega Navale Italiana has led to an interesting sailing calendar, especially for children. Guests can also challenge themselves in fishing contests, try a mini-cruise or a longer trip to Liguria, France or Corsica; there are courses for diving, water skiing and parasailing. Nature and sport take centre stage, but there’s also time for wellness, and thanks to the collaboration with the Genoa Thermal Baths, guests at the Marina can use the SPA overlooking the sea, furnished with elegant gazebos for massage and beauty treatments, including starlit treatments at night. The calendar of concerts and musical events will contain a small number of selected dates. In 2015, #Marinadivarazzefest took place under the leadership of Zibba – a Varazze singer who has appeared, among other things, in the Nuove Proposte section of the Sanremo Festival 2014 – and Maestro Giancarlo de Lorenzo, artistic director of the Sanremo Symphony Orchestra. The previous edition of the festival featured Eugenio Finardi, Niccolò Fabi and The Bluebeaters.
From a commercial point of view, initiatives are geared towards the owners of different types of boat, with solutions to suit the Marina’s highly diverse range of lifestyles. In particular, the benefits available to boats between 6 and 10 metres have been extended to 12 metres; the special discounted mooring tariffs available in areas of the harbour farthest from the service zone, but still sunny and convenient for entering and exiting, are almost ready, but there are more discounts for the last available places; catamarans are always welcome and will continue to have access to two basins for the price of one; while the Serenity Package, for yachts between 16 and 20 metres, will be enhanced by new services for maintenance, assistance and surveillance. These proposals are complemented by Flex Time, which offers yachts over 20 meters a contract for 6 or 8 months over 12 or 18 months: an initiative designed to meet the needs of those who leave their boats moored over the winter, while still wishing to travel at competitive rates during the high season.
