At IPS school with Amer Yachts and Volvo Penta

A free course for commanders will be held in Imperia, on 8 and 9 April, to learn all the secrets of Volvo Penta’s propeller, the IPS. The Swedish company, together with Amer Yachts, in collaboration with Confindustria Imperia nautical section, organized the two-day training and refresher course.

Since their appearance in 2005, IPS have revolutionized the way we think about propulsion in the boating world, finding a place in more and more engine rooms since then.

“We have been using Volvo Penta’s IPS system for years to propel all our yachts,” says Barbara Amerio, owner of Amer Yachts. “We have found that this excellent product still raises some concerns among the most conservative commanders. With this course we would like to show them that this system is not only advantageous for the shipowners, but also for the commanders themselves”.

“The IPS Volvo Penta continues to arouse interest among professional yacht and super yacht captains,” said Andrea Piccione, Volvo Penta Marine Sales Manager. “This course was created to give those who do not yet know it the opportunity to discover the functionality of this innovative propulsion system. It includes both purely theoretical parts and practical parts that will be carried out with the support of simulators. In this way, the commanders will have the opportunity to experience the on-board systems themselves”.
