Feadship unveils superyacht W after the refit

Feadship has completed a major refit at its Dutch base of the 57.60 metre superyacht W, originally launched as Larisa seven years ago.

Many changes have been made by Feadship to W over the past ten months, all reflecting the ways its experienced owner enjoys life at sea. “After purchasing W in 2019, I decided not only to adapt the newly purchased Feadship to my specific needs, but also to renovate it in every possible way, ensuring that it remained 100% Feadship,” explained the owner.

From four to six cabins

The main renovation activities concerned the positioning of a larger hot tub on the solarium and the implementation of important changes to the internal layout. An improvement of the lounge on the main deck made it possible to create a much more open space, while the number of cabins was increased from four to six.

The former VIP cabin on the lower deck has been converted into two guest suites of equal size. A Murphy’s double bed has been installed in the saloon on the deck and the adjacent toilet has been converted into a dedicated marble-clad bathroom for those moments when the saloon is used as a guest suite, where guests can enjoy the best views as well as plenty of space. The refined interior style developed by Bannenberg & Rowell Design in 2013 has been largely maintained, complemented by various personal touches made by the owner together with A La Mer, Inc.

Technical Updates

Completely new screens have been added to the W dashboard. All on-board lighting was switched from halogen to LED, which required the removal of all ceilings and the repositioning of all cables. The AV and IT systems were completely overhauled and a new wastewater treatment unit was installed. Both main MTU engines were overhauled and all other systems were revised and modernized where necessary.

Many other minor maintenance work was also carried out, from beautifying the sun-coloured deck areas to adding new glass inserts to all the internal cabinets. This impressive refurbishment involved close collaboration with the owner’s team and between two different Feadship sites. The project was initially started in Aalsmeer with the dry-docking phase which took place in Makkum.
