Plans for three new models unveiled at German boat show. Cantiere del Pardo continues its quest to expand and refine its product range

The GT65, pictured in the opening photo, preserves the iconicity and elegance of the renowned Walkaround range. It is strategically positioned between the GT52, unveiled in 2022, and the flagship GT75, scheduled to be launched this year. In this third model in the GT crossover range, spacious interiors and exteriors harmonize with flexible performance and layout.

Compared to its predecessors, the GT65 introduces several innovations. The first is the retractable garage capable of accommodating a 3-meter tender, ensuring elegant and clutter-free exterior lines. Like the GT75, the meticulous approach of Nauta Design, which is responsible for exterior, interior, and G.A. design, is evident in the low volumes at the stern, where a sundeck and lounge area are located.

This design preserves the large, open cockpit environment while maintaining the fluidity of the exterior lines. Reduced volumes minimize visual impact, while the constant connection to the outside environment is ensured by carefully designed elements, such as wraparound windows, a folding aft window that offers a view of the cockpit, and a glass sunroof that slides over the deckhouse. The forward deck offers another open-air lounge, complete with a large sundeck and convertible sofa.

The deck’s walkaround configuration provides easy access both fore and aft, improving the yacht’s overall accessibility. The GT65 offers several layout options. In the standard version, a galley on the main deck overlooks the lounge area, creating space on the deck below for two comfortable guest cabins with bathrooms (one twin and one double).

The GT65’s profile features the distinctive inverted bow, an aesthetic stylistic feature of Pardo Yachts, and the naval architecture is the work of Zuccheri Yacht Design. Technical specifications are still under development, but in terms of propulsion, the most powerful version will be equipped with Volvo Penta IPS 1350 engines, which guarantee performance and safety. The GT65 will make its debut in Cannes in 2025.

The newest arrival in the Grand Soleil Yachts Long Cruise range is called the Grand Soleil 60 Long Cruise. With meticulous design and execution of the deck, interior and master plans by Nauta Design and naval architecture by Matteo Polli, this new model confirms the shipyard’s focus on the increasingly important bluewater market segment.

Ideal for long-range cruising, the GS60 LC offers greater comfort and long cruises without the need for port stops, thanks to ample stowage space and tanks designed for maximum range. Responding to valuable customer feedback, the GS 60 LC represents the pinnacle of the Long Cruise range and is the ideal model for owners seeking the best onboard experience at the right price. The GS 60 LC was designed with the classic features of an LC in mind, prioritizing comfort and ease of cruising while maintaining optimum performance. Notable design elements include a pronounced V-shaped bow, a reduced wetted surface area, and excellent dynamic stability. The “stepless” deck layout, designed to maximize volume both above and below deck, facilitates movement within the yacht when sailing but also when anchoring.

A choice of versions with or without a rollbar allows for complete customization, adapting to individual preferences. . Below deck, the companionway opens to a spacious salon and chart table. The open galley is located forward, between the salon and master cabin, and offers ample space for a full-height refrigerator-freezer. Owners have the option of replacing the toilet opposite the galley with a technical or stowage space. The master stateroom boasts a French bed, a rare feature on an 18-meter yacht, and a forward bathroom. In the aft section, two guest cabins, one twin and one double, both with ensuite bathrooms, can accommodate up to four guests. There is an additional cabin for two crew members in the far bow. She is scheduled to make her international debut at the Cannes Yachting Festival in 2025.

GS Blue

Grand Soleil Blue: Blue, for a greener future

Grand Soleil Blue is a 10-meter sailboat born from the conviction that quality is the basic requirement to achieve sustainability, ensuring product longevity. Emblematic of the creative collaboration between two important names in the nautical scene such as Matteo Polli for naval architecture and Nauta Design for interior, G.A. and exterior design, and pioneers of sustainable materials such as NL Comp, the Grand Soleil Blue marks a new step for the shipyard, in which sustainability, efficiency and design come together to create a “bluer” future at sea.

This principle guided every step of the design process. The result is a stylish and innovative weekender, capable of accommodating up to four people overnight. It is a boat with zero impact on the environment, fully recyclable at the end of its life cycle. How was this goal achieved? By following several design and construction methodologies:

1. Sustainable construction: the GS Blue marks a breakthrough in boat construction through the use of thermoplastic resin, a choice that aims to solve one of the most significant problems in the boating industry: end-of-life disposal. Traditionally, composite boats have been built using thermoset resins, which are very difficult, if not impossible, to recycle. Thermoplastic resin, on the other hand, makes it easier to separate the resin and glass or carbon fibers for reuse or environmentally sustainable disposal.

2. Design for disassembly: a smart design approach allows for easy separation of boat accessories and components, similar to end-of-life practices in the automotive industry. This critical process ensures that every part of the GS Blue can be effectively disassembled and recycled, minimizing environmental impact.

3. Electric propulsion: the GS Blue will be equipped with a lithium battery bank and electric propulsion for zero-emission sailing, contributing to a more sustainable future through reduced emissions.

4. Solar panels: the installation of solar panels provides renewable energy autonomy by recharging the battery bank that powers the electric motor. The autonomy of the GS Blue allows, with the standard battery pack, to sail 30 nautical miles at about 5 knots, which translates to 6 hours of continuous engine operation or 12 hours with the dual battery pack.

5. Thermoplastic sails: in line with the project’s sustainable philosophy, the sails are made of thermoplastic materials, confirming the commitment to minimizing environmental impact.

6. Hydrogeneration: while sailing, while the propeller is in motion, the GS Blue’s batteries are effectively recharged by taking advantage of the flow of water generated by the boat’s speed. The world premiere of the first GS Blue is planned at the Cannes Yachting Festival 2024. The project is co-funded by the Emilia-Romagna region under the PR-ERDF 2021/2027 program – Action 1.1.1 – Call for experimental research and development projects.
