Bavaria C46, world premiere in Cannes

With the world premiere of the new BAVARIA C46, BAVARIA YACHTS begins the new boat show season at the Cannes Yachting Festival. The new BAVARIA C46 develops, interprets and expands the German shipyard’s highly successful C-LINE design concept. With its unique combination of generous space, excellent sailing features and innovative solutions, the new BAVARIA C46 aims to once again redefine the standards in its class.

Generous on-board space and proven Made in Germany solidity are combined with further improved sailing performance and an even greater on-board feel-good factor. These achievements are made possible by the pronounced chines and V-shaped bow, which already achieved excellent sailing characteristics in the previous development of the BAVARIA C38 and C42 and creates incomparable space in the cabins.

With the BAVARIA C46’s new rigging-sailing concept, pure sailing pleasure is further optimized, whether single or with a sporty crew, because the versatile BAVARIA C46 also offers convincing solutions for every need in deck layout. At the same time, the BAVARIA C46 is an elegant and refined yacht that is already delighting its future owners. The nomination of the BAVARIA C46 as Europe’s Yacht of the Year by the international jury of the European Yacht of the Year Award is further confirmation of this new all-round successful concept.

The BAVARIA C46 is designed to offer a unique experience and fun, comfort and safety on board. Whatever the preferred way of sailing, the C46 proves to be the ideal companion to discover the pleasure of sailing in all its nuances. Drawing on the vast experience of the past decades, the C46 offers a wide range of additional configurations, allowing maximum customization of the sailing experience to suit individual needs and preferences.

Bavaria C46

The BAVARIA C46 sets new standards in the combination of interior design, excellent sailing features and innovative solutions. Like all models in the C-line, the BAVARIA C46 was created in collaboration between the BAVARIA development team and Cossutti Yacht Design. Based on the experience of the latest successful developments, the new C46 has distinctive chines and the famous BAVARIA V-Bow, which give the C46 a very agile yet extremely stable sailing behavior. Whether for relaxed sailing with a small crew, solo sailing or voyages with a large crew and sporting ambitions, the BAVARIA C46 offers all the options needed for maximum sailing pleasure with six optional winch positions, a large upwind sail area and additional gennaker and Code0 options.

Even under the mainsail and self-tacking jib, the BAVARIA C46 has a sail area of 115 square meters upwind, thanks to the new rig-sail concept with larger headsails. The larger 56-square-meter genoa, which can be sculled at a narrow angle via genoa guides on the housing, provides increased speed and optimized tacking angles, thus offering maximum upwind height. Gennaker, Code0 or the new Permanent Code0 ensure an optimized sail plan in a wide variety of wind conditions. Permanent Code0 because this headsail can remain permanently on the bowsprit as a second additional headsail and does not have to be taken down after each downhaul course or even after a day trip. This makes the Code0 as easy to use as a genoa was. All halyards and trim lines are led to the two center winches at the helm. The main sheet and self-tacking jib sheet are also driven by the center winches and are thus always under the skipper’s control.

In addition to the traditional sport and furling mast with manual winches for active sailing, an electric furling system for the mainsail and electric winches for trimming the headsails are available as options for the first time. Upon request, powerful lithium batteries provide power for the trimming system and other utilities on board the BAVARIA C46, also in combination with removable solar panels on the bimini to generate additional electricity.

Bavaria C46

The BAVARIA C46 offers two options for trimming the Gennaker and Code0. If you often sail alone or with a small crew, you can choose two more winches on the bridge in addition to the center winch. The larger genoa sheet can also be driven directly aft through the halyard tunnel and adjusted so that it is easily accessible to the helmsman.

If the BAVARIA C46 is sailed by a larger and more active crew, the two additional winches on the cockpit coaming are the right choice. The genoa, gennaker and Code0 are easily operated by the crew and provide the skipper with plenty of space behind the new helm station, which also provides access to the most important information at any time from the coaming.

With the three additional B&G displays above the gangway, important data such as boat speed, wind strength, wind direction, course and depth can be accessed at any time by the entire crew.

With the BAVARIA C46, the BAVARIA development team created an impressive amount of space and comfort in the salon and cabins. In addition to an attractive design and high build quality, the clear goal during development was to create a spacious and communicative salon for the owner and crew, while offering maximum privacy in the comfortable cabins. Therefore, the C46 offers a wide range of configurations that allow for maximum customization of the yacht and the sailing experience according to individual needs and preferences.

Bavaria C46

The salon is the ideal place to spend wonderful times with family and friends aboard the BAVARIA C46. In the slightly elevated BAVARIA on-board office, equipped with a navigation table and important nautical equipment, you are at the same height as the galley crew. In this way, working on the navigation system or even cooking becomes a shared experience. Meals are served at the large salon table with a U-shaped sofa, which can be quickly transformed into a large lounging area at the push of a button thanks to the optional lowerable salon table.

To ensure the right amount of light in the salon, BAVARIA YACHTS combines proven yacht construction with modern concepts. New skylights, large hatchways, and hull windows not only provide daylight and ventilation for the salon during the day, but also an excellent view of the sails, both from the salon office and the salon table. In the evening, energy-saving designer linear lights in the deck panels always provide the right light to the salon.

Available layouts range from 3 to 5 cabins and offer new possibilities for meeting individual needs on board through multifunctional rooms. For example, the owner can choose a 4-cabin configuration, each with its own bathroom; this layout offers optimal privacy and comfort for all guests on board. Alternatively, a 3-cabin configuration can be chosen with an extremely spacious master cabin and an additional separate multifunctional cabin on the gangway. The latter can be used as tool storage, wet waxing space, or directly accessible storage space.

The breadth and feeling of space is absolutely impressive, and not only in the salon. In the standard three-cabin version, all berths on board are at least 1.60 meters wide over the entire length of all berths, with a total length of more than two meters each-an almost impossibly generous solution in this segment. The very voluminous forward master stateroom, almost four meters long, offers impressive light and space and, in addition to its own bathroom and separate shower, also provides space for an additional closet on the main bulkhead and an on-board library in the salon.

Many other options allow the layout and equipment below deck to be adapted to individual preferences. For plenty of space there is the option of a multi-purpose room to starboard and port, for example if more storage space or a washing machine is desired. The four-cabin layout can be done classically with a divided cabin forward, where the berths are over 2 meters long and each 1.50 meters x 0.80 meters wide, or, if one understandably does not want to dispense with the one master cabin in the forward section, with an additional fourth cabin with double bunk beds in place of the head on the starboard side.

This freedom of choice allows owners to create the space on board that best suits their individual needs. Needs and preferences vary widely, so the C46 offers a wide range of optimized solutions. Whether it is generous space or practical solutions on board, the BAVARIA C46 is designed in such a way that it can adapt to any situation and offer passionate sailors unique experiences. A design thought out down to the smallest detail – Made in Germany.

After its world premiere at the Cannes Yachting Festival from September 12 to 17, the BAVARIA C46 can also be discovered at the Southampton Boat Show from September 18 to 24, the Genoa Boat Show from September 21 to 26, and the Barcelona Boat Show from October 12 to 15.
