Lightscape

At the last Monaco Yacht Show, the Linley furniture made its debut in the boating world

LINLEY FURNISHINGS ARE TRUE OBJECTS OF ART. Designed to recreate the magic of an illuminated city or to impress with their original forms, the pieces are built with all the skill of craftsmen of yore. Lightscape is a very special piece which depicts a building at night and was inspired by the Royal Albert Hall. The sun has set and the building is transformed by the light from within, thanks to the mother-of-pearl that shines from almost every window, while ash, lava, dark gray eucalyptus and black maple make up the main structure. The console is crowned by a splendid panel finished in silver leaf and with a map of London. The showcase has a startling opening device that brings a bottle-holder out from one side of the cabinet with a Linley Trafalgar shaker, bucket, two crystal bottles and a silver tray for the preparation of beverages. Other doors open to reveal neatly stored glasses, cocktail sticks and a silver shaker. Camouflaged is a drawer that hides a knife and cutting board. Prices range from ninety thousand pounds for the Dusk to 120 thousand pounds for the Noon and you can also buy them on line. In addition to the furniture the London firm’s collection includes a series of accessories which are characterized by a meticulous style and a very sophisticated taste. They are made with very precious materials and manufactured with numerical control machines. Linley was founded in 1985 and to celebrate its 30 years of activity it offers a series of objects designed with strong references to its origins.
