A holiday like a king
Years ago it was the hunting ground of the Balinese royal family. Now the Bukit peninsula, in the south of Bali, hosts the Bulgari resort on a plateau 150 meters above the sea level offering one of the most suggestive views of the Indian Ocean
IN ONE OF THE MOST EXCLUSIVE DESTINATIONS AROUND THE WORLD, as an emblem of the tropical exoticism of the East, there’s the Bulgari resort which adds to the amazing beauty of the wild places the stretches of an elite and sophisticated design, inspired by the typical Balinese shapes and the Italian stylistic concept. The resort lies on a plateau at 150 meters above the sea level, well protected by bukit stone walls, a white coral extracted from the promontory, offering an unrivalled view of the Indian Ocean. Near, there is the village of Pecatu and the stunning cliff-top site of the Pura Luhur Uluwatu Temple. The Jimbaran Bay and the airport lie approximately 20 kilometres north of the resort; while Kuta, one of the main tourist places of Bali, is a 40 minute-drive away. The rooms, with ocean view, represent a contemporary interpretative synthesis of the traditional Balinese style and Italian design. Designed by architects Antonio Citterio Patricia Viel and Partners, the walls have been built using hand-cut volcanic stones and palimanan stone. The sophisticated shades of the bangkiray, a Javanese mahohgany, enrich the windows. Refined fabrics adorn the rooms and were designed and manufactured locally by a team of Balinese artists and designers. You can’t miss the sumptuous Spa treatments carried out in line by four therapists for a deep massage with oils and exotic herbs. Hot volcanic stones are placed on the chakras, the seven energy centers, for total relaxation and a pleasant anti-stress effect, all oceanfront.
