Boats 25 September 2019
Born from an idea of Bluegame founder Luca Santella, and signed by Bernardo and Martina Zuccon, BGX70 was presented at the Cannes Yachting Festival 2019. The new 21-metre long boat impresses with some new features and opens a new era of Bluegame.
BGX70, presented at the last Cannes Yachting Festival, is designed both externally and internally by Zuccon International Project starting from a concept by Luca Santella, with the precise intention of investigating the possibility of offering new typological scenarios.
Bernardo Zuccon, talking about his work, said: “BGX70 is a fascinating and stimulating project, born from the creativity of Luca Santella, a man who has always loved the sea deeply and who, as a former Olympic athlete, lives the marine environment in a passionate way, going beyond the experience of an entrepreneur.”
Made with a fiberglass hull, BGX70 has interiors that emphasize the link with the sea: the decision was made to use the most natural fabrics, leathers and essences, while colors and shades were chosen to favor a sensation of balance and harmony. The colors of wood and white have been chosen and designed to emphasize the marinity of the entire project.
Bluegame, a historic brand that makes boats for living almost exclusively outside, thus opens up to a new market share, thinking of boats that can be lived in different ways from time to time depending on the needs of the owner.
“BGX70 sums up all the main market trends – continued Bernardo Zuccon – such as the open stern with the exposed tender. The possibility of developing the entire living area on two different levels connected by an internal staircase was fundamental to the design of this model: in this way we were able to create two different living areas.”
Other strengths of the BGX70 lie in the link between indoor and outdoor spaces, which communicate with each other through a system of sliding doors, and in the great flexibility of the spaces, which can be organized according to the needs of the owner.
Light, as in all the projects designed by Zuccon International Project, also plays a fundamental role, particularly in the living areas, where the percentage of glass surfaces is so large as to give the impression that the exterior and interior are part of the same environment.
