Solo is the new 72 meters yacht by Tankoa, made in aluminum and steel. It was born from the pencil of Francesco Paszkowski and Margherita Casprini who took care of the interior design. The hull design is by Vincenzo Ruggiero. With over 6,000 miles of range, the maximum speed is of 17.5 knots.

With its 72 meters in length and 11,60 meters in width, Tankoa Solo has a volume of 1,600 GT with a displacement of 1,120 tons at half load and 1,240 tons at full load.

Francesco Paszkowski stated about the project: “Solo’s extra length compared to Suerte, the 69.40-meter yacht delivered three years ago on the same technical platform, meant that more space could be devoted to the exterior and interior areas, increasing the already generous volumes of key features such as the beach club, winter garden and the guest spaces on the upper deck. Lowering the hull bulwarks on the main deck further meant that the sea views from the main salon could be improved”.

The yacht– the Italian designer continued- was designed for both private use and charter purposes as requested by the owner. This required continuity between the various social spaces, a precise but flexible division according to use, good communication between the exterior and interior, and the rigorous use of architectural principles.

The lower deck is devoted to crew accommodations and services, including the pro-spec galley. There are also two portside pantries on the main deck and upper decks to provide swift and efficient service on every deck level. Naturally, the crew circulation is entirely separate from the guest areas”.

The interior design was realised in collaboration with Margherita Casprini. Solo has accommodation for 12 guests in six cabins, including the master suite on the large private owner’s deck, a VIP suite and four doubles located on the main deck. In addition, the hair dressing/massage room and the owner’s study can also be converted into additional cabins as they are both equipped with an en-suite bathroom.

As Paszkowski says: “The goal was to perfectly reflect the owner’s wishes. Dark and light shades have been carefully balanced to complement each other and the discreet colour palette chosen for the soft furnishings. Both materials and finishes are combined with painstaking attention to details and Made-in-Italy top brand names.

Powered by twin Caterpillar 3516B main engines developing 1,825 kW, Solo is capable of 17.5 knots top speed.At 10 knots, with one generator running, she burns a total of 195 liters per hour, providing a range of 7,000 nautical miles. At 15.7 knots, she burns 570 liters per hour for a range of over 4,000 nautical miles with a 10% margin. At her full speed of 17.5 knots, she still has over 3,000 nautical miles range with a 10% margin.

Like all yachts in the Tankoa range, she comes with independent rudder systems, in this case from Rolls Royce, allowing manoeuvring in the tightest situations supported by a 200 kW Najad hydraulic bow thruster.

The three Northern Lights generators, two 230 kW and one 155 kW, are equipped with HUG soot burners to eliminate the usual black smoke stain on the sides of the hull.
