Imperial announced today the signing of a new construction contract with Amels and Damen Yachting for the 120-meter Project Signature. The superyacht was designed by Espen Øino and will be the largest ever built in the Netherlands. Delivery is scheduled for 2025.
This is an eco-sustainable concept: Project Signature has been designed and engineered according to the Lloyds Register of Shipping EP (Environment Protection) classification and will be powered by a diesel-electric plant and an Azipod propulsion system with “the lowest noise and vibration levels ever experienced on a yacht of this size”, according to Imperial. Imperial will act as the owner’s representative and construction supervisor during the construction process.
Project Signature seals the ninth collaboration between Amels and Damen Yachting. “This is a special day for Imperial,” stated Imperial Director Julia Stewart. “We confirm our leadership in the 100+ meter superyacht segment while demonstrating that our important knowledge contributes to raising the bar in our demanding and changing industry. The partnership with Amels and Damen Yachting is no accident: they have an undeniable reputation for excellence and we appreciate their high standards.”
Amels and Damen Yachting’s CEO, Rose Damen, shares the same level of enthusiasm for the project. “We are extremely honored to have been selected for this important project. This superyacht adds to our strong relationship with both Imperial and Espen Øino International. We have an excellent team for this project, which includes designers and engineers from our yard and production department. Everyone involved is very enthusiastic and looking forward to delivering the best boat for the owner.”
“We are very proud to be part of this project, the largest ever built by Amels,” explains designer Espen Øino. “The collaboration with the great teams at Imperial and Amels has strengthened our already thriving relationships. Our team worked tirelessly to create a yacht with a unique layout and timeless exterior appearance that blends angular design with elegant curves. We look forward to seeing this impressive yacht come to life during the construction process.”
More information on this project will follow in the coming months.
