At boot Düsseldorf 2019, the new Y85 will be launched globally along with the presentation of the developments of the X95, announced for 2020. Following the success of the R35, these two models represent a further result of the collaboration between Princess and Pininfarina, aimed at redefining Princess’s brand identity through an increase in perceived quality, particularly in outdoor spaces.
The aim of this extensive project, derived from the partnership between Princess Yachts, a British manufacturer of luxury motor yachts, Olesinski, a naval design and architecture studio, and Pininfarina, an iconic Italian design house, is to rewrite the rules of yacht design, defining a new standard of excellence in the layout of spaces.
“With the X95 and Y85 we wanted to challenge the state of the art by creating something revolutionary but immediately perceptible like Princess and Pininfarina”, explains Paolo Pininfarina, Chairman of the Group. “The secret of this project was to give more to the customer, reshaping the functional needs to create a characteristic identity”.
The distinctive element of the X95 is the ‘Super Flybridge‘, which guarantees a 10% increase in outdoor space and a 40% increase in indoor space compared to a traditional motor yacht. This leap forward in capacity and versatility reflects the recent innovations of luxury car brands developing crossover models.
Designed to offer a unique and exclusive lifestyle, the Y85 has been designed to satisfy a variety of preferences, ensuring comfort and relaxation and guaranteeing the privacy of guests as well as entertainment and hospitality. Its flybridge allows for great outdoor living, while the lower deck offers four cabins with private bathrooms.
Pininfarina is an internationally renowned design house, active for 89 years, with offices in Italy, Germany, China, and the United States. Since the ’80s it has established itself in the nautical sector, designing interiors and exteriors of motor and sailing boats, developing, over the years, collaborations with customers such as Beneteau, Primatist, Fincantieri, Rossinavi, Wally, Princess, and Persico Marine.
