Palumbo Superyachts Marseille won the call for tenders launched by GPMM in February 2019 to renew the concession for a further 21 years of the entire French yard in Boulevard des bassins de Radoub Formes 3 & 6 in the petit forme sector, already granted to Palumbo yards in 2014.
The new concession will come into force from 1/7/2020, with PSY Refit having approved major investments. As proof of this commitment, a new 48 x 18 m floating dry dock capable of lifting boats of up to 500 tons has been awarded to the shipyard to upgrade its facilities and enable it to carry out onshore work within the watershed.
“The relentless work of improvement that we have carried out since we settled on the French coast is giving us great satisfaction. The renewal of the concession allows us to plan a series of infrastructure investments that will bring in the short and long term and increase in the services offered” commented Giulio Maresca, General Manager PSY Refit Marseille.
The multifunctional shipyard in Marseille, with its 4 dry docks, a 95m long watershed, a pier over 300m long for floating work, and a new floating dry dock, has seen a constant turnover of superyachts requiring all types of work.
This year the work was mainly concentrated on dry dock no. 6, including the topcoat finish on a superyacht over 90m.
The season shows positive data with many ongoing projects that led to the booking of all dry dock slots until summer 2020.
The Marseille shipyard is part of the Palumbo Superyachts network, which has 4 other facilities in the Mediterranean (Ancona, Naples, Malta, and Savona).
