Three years ago, Nautor’s Swan launched guidelines for its new industrial, commercial and competitive strategies. At Boot Düsseldorf, the Finnish company took the opportunity to present its accounts. And the numbers smile at her.
A turnover that in 2018 grew by 26%, with a forecast for 2019 of +50%. The total order book now is 110 million Euros. In the range Nautor has 6 new models: the Swan 48, in the opening photo and presented at the German show, Swan 65, and then Swan 98, Swan 120, ClubSwan 36 and ClubSwan 125. Eleven boats were delivered in 2018, and in 2019 the shipyard expects to exceed twenty units.
Nautor’s Swan’s new direction also includes a substantial restructuring of its manufacturing planes in Pietarsaari. These three from have become one, with a significant gain in terms of optimization and production control, with a new oven, a new plant for painting and processing of composites and pre-preg processing of fiberglass that are already in use. An investment of 10 million Euros.
The shipyard is also working to expand and improve its customer service network, and in particular has relaunched its base in Palma de Mallorca, opened its base in Badalona, and is also investing to expand its regatta programme starting with the Swan One Design regatta, which includes ClubSwan 36, ClubSwan 50, ClubSwan 42 and Swan 45. The biennial event of the Trofeo delle Nazioni (Palma de Mallorca, 8-12 October 2019) will in fact be preceded by the respective Nations Trophy Leagues in the Mediterranean and Northern Europe.
The Swan European Regatta 2019 has been confirmed and the event will take place in Cowes – Isle of Wight, from 7 to 12 July, under the aegis of the Royal Yacht Squadron. In America, after a few years of absence, the circuit will return with the Swan American Regatta to be held in Newport (RI) from 13 to 16 June 2019, with the organization of the New York Yacht Club.
