SUPERYACHTS 26 September 2019
The week of Fincantieri Yachts at the Monaco Yacht Show began with the presentation of a new concept of mega yacht, VIS, developed in collaboration with Francesco Paszkowski.
Fincantieri Yachts, a division of the Fincantieri Group that builds yachts above 70 metres, presented a mega yacht concept inspired by modern military ships during the first day of the Monaco Boat Show. The name of the project, VIS, also recalls the Latin language used for the mottos of the ships that the Group builds for the Italian Navy.
“VIS” combines consolidated tradition with refined architectural solutions, such as folding terraces, large public panoramic areas and solar panels that embody the quintessence of design as a combination of form and function. Fincantieri Yachts developed the concept in collaboration with the studio of Italian designer Francesco Paszkowski.
Fincantieri has established itself on the market of full custom yachts above 100 m. Since 2005, the company has delivered the 134m “Serene” and the 140m “Ocean Victory”. With 230 years of Fincantieri experience in shipbuilding, the company’s yacht division has a plant in Muggiano (La Spezia), among the most technologically advanced in the production of complex units, such as megayachts, surface military vessels and submarine.
