Perini Navi launched Eco-tender is the first motor yacht and the first planing hull of the shipyard. Eco Tender features sophisticated technological content both for propulsion and for systems and instrumentation. It will be delivered in April.

The project was born from the desire of the owners of a 52-metre Perini Navi to have a real extension of their sailboat.

Perini Navi’s Eco Tender 25 is powered by a sophisticated hybrid propulsion system, developed by Siemens, which offers four operating modes: diesel, two MAN (2×1) diesel engines.213k W) power two Hamilton waterjets for a maximum speed of more than 30 knots; hybrid: one engine drives the jet and also acts as a generator, powering the electric motor that drives the other waterjet; diesel-electric: a 130 kW generator supplies electricity to the two electric motors to drive the waterjets. Finally, the zero emission mode is for manoeuvring or small routes without having emissions and noise, a set of batteries powers both waterjets through the electric motors, for speeds of 8 knots for up to an hour.

This is the first time such an avant-garde hybrid system has been installed on a superyacht tender,” says Luca Boldrini, Sales Director – Motor yachts at Perini Navi. “The initial impetus came from the tech-savvy owners who wanted a vessel that impacted on the environment as little as possible, but the know-how we bring away from the project will be carried through into the future.”

If the propulsion is technologically advanced, Team Italia‘s I-Bridge Multitouch navigation system is an absolute novelty for a yacht of this size. All the onboard systems, including the hybrid propulsion, can be managed using high-resolution 4K touch screens, trackballs and joggers. The monitors rise to different heights, in dashboard or chart/navigation mode, and offer an augmented reality function that superimposes video images on navigation data.

Moreover, an Anchor Watching System (AWS) system can display and control all the equipment necessary for monitoring the boat at anchor. In fact, it provides a 360° image around the boat and tracking of traffic using the radar systems, thermal camera or search light, and can be programmed to sound a proximity alarm.

The owners also intervened directly in the design of the yacht: for example, they wanted guests to be able to board and disembark from the tender comfortably and safely off the deck of the mother boat. The main deck, which is the same height as the mother boat, allows guests to switch directly from one vessel to another.

On the main deck, in addition to the traditional aft cockpit, equipped with lounge seating, sunpads and an aft beach, there is also a spacious dinette sunk into the foredeck, from which the owner can devote himself to his favourite hobby: nature photography.

The interior features a dinette-salon room and a complete galley on the main deck. Below deck, there is a full beam VIP suite, a double cabin in forward and a third cabin with twin beds, all with private bathroom. In front of the bulkhead of the engine room there is a crew cabin, with independent access.
