The Benetti “Metis”, a 63 meters yacht realized in steel and aluminum, has entered the water in Livorno. The exteriors are designed by Giorgio M. Cassetta, while the interiors are by Bannenberg & Rowell and Birgit Otte.
“Metis”, which was designed for a German owner, is structured on 5 decks, reaching a length of 63 meters. The exterior lines are the result of the partnership between Benetti and Giorgio M. Cassetta Design: what stand out are a massive stempost and clean, soft volumes, whose three-dimensionality is enhanced through different surfaces.
For the interiors, the London-based studio Bannenberg & Rowell has created a particular asymmetric layout. The beach club, the main salon on the main deck and the upper deck lounge area are skewed 30 degrees with respect to “traditional” layouts. The final result is a “modern style” yacht where materials such as carbon, bleached oak and leather inserts are the main elements.
Another distinctive feature of “Metis” is the owner’s apartment, situated on the upper deck, spread over a surface of 162 sqm, offering a beautiful panoramic view through the windows that surround almost its entire perimeter. In addition to the master cabin, the area dedicated to the owner includes two bathrooms with walk-in wardrobes and a living area with sofa and television. The apartment is completed with an outdoor terrace of 55 sqm and a touch and go helipad.
The Main Deck houses a lounge containing relaxation and dining areas, a children’s playroom, a twin cabin and a nanny suite. On the Lower Deck there are four guest cabins, a crew area for 12 people and the aft beach club. On the top Bridge Deck the helm station and connected captain’s cabin are forward while an outside lounge area aft is furnished with a dining table, a bar, a jacuzzi and a sun lounging area.
“While every launch is the source of great pride for us, “Metis” represents something special: her owner, together with Yacht Moments, allows us to enhance our presence in the strategically important German market. As always, we are very pleased to act as spokespeople for ‘Made in Italy’ excellence worldwide,” said Franco Fusignani from the sidelines of the ceremony. The Benetti CEO reasserted the concept: “We’ve been able to maintain the higher level of quality that distinguish all of our yachts while satisfying all the client wishes, even the ones received during the building process like the customized 20 sqm gym on the Fly Deck”.
