The explorer vessel Audace from the K-Series by Floating Life was displayed at the Monaco Yacht Show. The yacht was customised to the owner’s specifications with a range of tailored solutions.

M/Y Audace, a new explorer yacht measuring 42.8 metres in length and 9.4 in the beam, has been built by Cantiere delle Marche, and launched in January 2019. Designed by Floating Life and Studio Sculli of Sarzana. Interior design by Alessandra Negrato.

Audace was entirely custom-designed, built for an expert sailor who intends to live aboard with comfort while exploring all the world’s seas. In fact, he spent all of the 2019 season cruising the Mediterranean.

Floating Life not simply designed the craft, but acted also as the owner’s representative and project manager team throughout the construction process.

The K–Series by Floating Life features a collection of long-range hulls designed with highly sophisticated fluid dynamics software and tested in the naval tank at Gothenburg. Clients can work hand-in-glove with the yard to customise the superstructure, the interior layout and the décor of their craft to deliver the exact result they require.

The K-Series includes six expedition yacht designs of between 38m and 47m, with a 75 m commission that Floating Life has recently received.

Audace features, as requested by the owner, a unique separate owner’s deck, a private penthouse-style apartment with its own saloon and compact galley, towering 15 metres above the sea in the place of the usual fly bridge. Moreover, this deck is only accessible by a stairs on the upper deck, guaranteeing the owner’s privacy. It includes a master stateroom, his and her bathrooms, a private saloon and al fresco Jacuzzi.

Audace’s guests are accommodated in four double cabins, two of which are on the main deck and two on the lower deck. Those on the lower deck feature private fold-down balconies.

The main deck features many communal areas. The sun pad area can also double as a stowage area for a 9m tender, which can be easily moved by two red cranes capable to lift up to 9 t.

There is also a spacious sea platform on the lower deck which opens into a 55 sqm soundproofed entertainment area. The professional galley can serve a very large number of guests and be reached through a side door.

The bottom deck houses the technical area and includes a walk-in tunnel that allows crew to move along the length of the yacht, without bothering guests.

Audace’s lavish storage capabilities and her 5,000 nm range guarantee that she can spend extended periods at sea as her owner intended.

Andrea Pezzini, CEO Floating Life: Audace is a huge adventure for Floating Life. An ongoing, constantly evolving adventure embarked upon for a longstanding, exacting client who showed us faith in us once again with Audace, a new and complicated project. The first explorer in the K-Series to become an extraordinary reality. The first K42 satisfied her owner (and Floating Life) not just as a concept but, most importantly of all, because of her innovative content.”
