AIRsana reconditionsair-conditioning equipment by removing all the dust and fine particles, viruses, and bacteria and prevents them from spreading

«I HAD THE SOLUTION UNDER MY VERY EYES. BUT I HAD NEVER NOTICED!». Great inventions often start out that way, with a mix of coincidence and research. The inventions that change people’s daily lives, the ones that improve our health. Marco Buzzi worked in the air conditioning sector for thirty years, with passion, intelligence, and professionalism. Then, in 2014, he made the jump and launched AIRsana, an innovative and ecological device to clean air-conditioning units in closed environments.
Buzzi’s start-up, which from the beginning has focused on saving energy, is a dynamic and continually growing company. «AIRsana means we can live in healthier environments and works without chemicals or alcohol, which can be extremely toxic», Buzzi explains. The alternative is to continue to live in rooms in which dust, viruses, and bacteria remain in circulation even after careful cleaning. It happens in all indoor environments: underground train networks, trains, airports, offices, and hospitals. And of course, in boats too. Yachts, sailing boats, cruise ships. We’ve probably all wondered at least once in our lives: «but do we have to use these horrible, perfumed disinfectants to clean a ventilation system?».
The system invented by Marco Buzzi does without them. How exactly? By using dry, saturated steam at 160 degrees centigrade. «I thought about what the best solution could be for years. Then I realised that you didn’t need to add anything, you had to take something away. You had to get the dirt out with steam. Without adding any chemicals».
AIRsana reconditions systems to bring themback like new, reducing the consumption of energy by up to 40% and removing all the dust and fine particles, as well as viruses and bacteria, stopping them from spreading. It also halves the time needed by maintenance teams. So, that doesn’t sound like a lot? These are some of the things that are needed to enhance the quality of our time spent on a boat: improving the quality of the air that we breathe and limiting the amount of time that we have to spend on maintenance.
«We have had the Italian patent since July 2017, and we have had the European one since 1stMay this year».The nautical sector is one of those that Buzzi is currently starting to explore, boosted by the success he has had so far and by the excellent results obtained. You just have to consider that his start-up is one of the five selected for the “Genius and Business” initiative promoted to commemorate the 500thanniversary of the death of Leonardo da Vinci.
The worldwide air-conditioning market will grow exponentially over the next seven years, in part because of climate change. But at the same time, there will be an increase in allergies, and inadequately cleaned air-conditioning systems are also to blame for this. According to the Europe Climate Foundation, in the European Union the cost of poor air quality is higher in human terms than that of road accidents. It is a shocking fact that not many people are aware of. And so, you have to deal with it.
«We are happy if people on board can breathe better. Clean air. Zero chemical substances».And if the systems are clean, one thing is clear: they work better and last longer. «AIRsana is the first and only device in the world that sanitises to 99%». And that can make the difference on a yacht.
