“What kind of man prefers monotony? It seems to me that it is those who have spent too long contemplating the sea, too deeply examining the tangle of interior matters, to not look for one single thing in external ones, simplicity…” Those lines by Thomas Mann are a good starting point to reflect on the flight from the monotony that surrounds us.
Looking at the 40 Open Sunreef Power we imagine that the Polish yard has definitely offered a new answer to the way we conceive a motor boat. The 40 Open has an original design with a twin hull, it is a safe and comfortable vessel and it is environmentally friendly in terms of fuel consumption.
This kind of hull ensures the best performance for comparable power applied, and provides plenty of available room, with great stability at high speed. The 40 Open Sunreef Power is offered with on-board engines ranging from 870 to 1,720 horsepower, which can power it to over 60 knots.
The yard also offers a version equipped with a retractable hydrofoil system, which lifts the hull when it is doing over 25 knots. With this system, the resistance of the part that is in the water is reduced to a minimum, fuel consumption is extremely low and the range also increases.
The 40 Open Sunreef Power has a high level of on-board comfort. Hidden under the stern sun area is a huge locker to keep all the water toys and diving equipment close to hand. The steering position, which is equipped with sports seats, is well protected and has a dashboard that is fitted with touchscreen tools to easily use the control and boat management systems. The yard offers top level customisation, and owners can decide to change the interiors to suit their requirements.
Large volumes are available in the hulls to house a bathroom, and a bedroom or a store area. Top of the range audio-video systems, specially-selected technology and customised finishings mean that a very wide range of layout solutions can be chosen. This catamaran also uses cutting-edge technology in its construction.
All the structural bulkheads have been made with a laminated fibre-glass sandwich technique, with strengthening in the points that are under most stress, all the process has been developed with vacuum infusion moulding. The hulls, the deck and structural bulkheads are also available in sandwich-structured carbon fibre to reduce the weight of the hull and improve all-round performance.
